Cancellations
When working with children and families, all kinds of things come up on occasion and I appreciate that. I have a very forgiving and flexible attitude but this is my livelihood. Missed appointments mean lost time and income for me.
If you know that there is a coming conflict - an extra play rehearsal, a trip to visit Grandma, etc. please let me know at least 24 hours in advance. This allows me to fill that time slot, potentially with another student. There is no penalty for these as long as they don't happen too often. If cancellations are frequent I may not hold your preferred time slot for you as I may need to fill it with someone who can be more consistent.

If you cancel the same day due to sudden illness or emergency I will of course take that into consideration and try to reschedule the session with you without penalty. Again though, if these are frequent I may not be able to hold your time slot open for you.

No-shows or last minute cancellations (within an hour of our scheduled session) will be charged 50% of that session's value. No new sessions will be held until payment is made. Please don't do this. It's not respectful of my time and does not help your child.
Lateness
If you or your child are late to a lesson by two or three minutes I will just add them on to our usual end time to keep our session the regular length. Anything beyond that will be taken from our session time, however, so that I stay on schedule. Ex: if your child is ten minutes late to our 45 minute lesson, there will only be 35 minutes of instruction time. You will be billed the regular rate.
Vacation Time
If you're lucky, once in a while you'll get to go away on vacation. Sometimes I will, too (I hope)! For extended absences (more than two missed sessions in a row) I am happy to hold your spot as long as you give me at least 48 hours' notice. Communication is always key. Likewise, if I know that I'll need to miss a session I will let you know as soon as I can and attempt to reschedule to make up the missed time.
Paying
You can pay for tutoring sessions via Venmo or Apple Pay.
